Featured Song: Nohidea – Morning Missed.
The perfect track for a rainy day, “morning missed” is more of the introspective, mellow lushness we’ve come to expect from production duo nohidea. The self-described two weird kids have maintained an impressive output since their first track was posted to SoundCloud a short three months ago, having uploaded sixteen releases from their channel alone – two of which being full EPs.
Nohidea’s beats are at once antique-sounding and forward-thinking: a perfect medium between the old and the new; their sound is reminiscent of J Dilla’s classic, soulful groove, but with re-invigorated enthusiasm. Typically layering crisp, textured percussion and effects overtop of classical, jazzy piano and strings, nohidea have a special way of tugging at your heartstrings and evoking nostalgia with their tunes.
Contemplative as always, the scratching vinyl, delicately sidechained whirring lead, and lofi drums on “morning missed” – one for those misty mornings – make for a delightfully relaxed ambience.
