Featured Song: Kuren – Mon Amour ft. Austen.
Australian music producer Curtis Kennedy aka Kuren – of the indegenous Wiradjuri people – grew up in a small town of only 1,500 people, Hillston in New South Wales, before moving to the big city, Sidney, to pursue his musical ambitions. The rising star has now picked up massive support from, and/or worked with, a number of huge tastemakers and artists, including triple j – who named him one of “10 Artists to Watch in 2016,” the winner of the triple j Unearthed NIMA competition, and a nominee for 2016’s “Hot 100” – and Ta-Ku, Kuren’s self-proclaimed number one inspiration, who he joined for “In Residence” – a creative residency.
His latest single, “Mon Amour,” is one of his best yet – it puts his gritty synthwork and catchy songwriting on full display, and Austen‘s vocals add a ton of emotional grit and drive to an already huge song.
