Featured Album: Said The Whale: As Long As Your Eyes Are Wide.
Vancouver-based indie favourite Said The Whale has been reborn with As Long As Your Eyes Are Wide, the group’s first full-length effort since hawaiii, released back in 2013.
While the group’s catchy indie vibes are present throughout the course of the whole album, it’s also a new step forward for the group into more synth-heavy, experimental territory. While their past work was very much classic acoustic indie, even folksy at times, As Long As Your Eyes Are Wide blurs the lines between alternative and electronica to create an album that feels current and classic all at once.
It’s an album that features absolutely no filler tracks, and one which marks an impressive new beginning for the 3-person Canadian outfit. Tickets for their brand new tour are available here.
Fun trivia: Did you know? Canadian producer EKALI is a former band member of Said The Whale, having for a few years played bass in the group, replacing then-bassist Jeff LaForge.
