Featured Song: skeler – rush.
I’ve waited so long for this to happen, and finally, after all this time, someone has done it – an artist has used the right formula to combine in one organic track all the best of both the trance and bass music worlds. To do so, Australian producer skeler. has really dug through the archives, re-surfacing Armada’s global hit from early 2004, “As The Rush Comes.”
Here, the progressive influences found in the original are totally wiped away and supplanted by the slow, dark atmospheres typical of wave, which surprisingly fit to perfection with Jes’s vocals, creating real emotional tension. As the track’s energy builds, an adrenaline charge hits you out of the blue. In all, “rush” is a triumphant composition of rare beauty, mixing the subdued power of trance with the intimate grit of wave.
