Featured Song: BOWTYE – Dangerous.
As soon as the pulsating synths kick in during the opening seconds to “Dangerous,” it becomes evident that BOWTYE has himself a hit in this one. The single, which is the second release from his Shapes & Colors [Playlist] concept series, is dripping with soul, much as with the majority of the Columbia native’s other releases.
Says BOWTYE, “The Shapes & Colors [Playlist] series [was created to] show off the many moods and feelings [he] create[s] musically.” The “Shapes” component of the title represents the structural component to music-making (i.e., arrangement and song structure), while the “Colors” component represents the figurative colouration of a particular song based on its sonics and emotions (e.g., a more playful song might be considered relatively “light”).
It’s a super interesting concept for a compilation of sorts, and we can’t wait to hear its future instalments.
