At 16 years old, most of us were playing video games or sports, worrying about high school, and concerning ourselves entirely with unproductive things like social circles and memes – you know, regular kid stuff. Jaron Steele, meanwhile, is out here making game-changing music and inspiring producers several years his senior.
While his previous official releases have all been imaginative and well-produced, with “Time, Real & Imaginary,” it feels like Jaron has scored his first real breakthrough – a track that has already, in the few days since its release, blown up on SoundCloud, garnering him a ton of adulation for its intricacy, uniqueness and energy.
And it’s easy to see why: this song has made future bass seem fresh again – a feat unto itself – seamlessly blending riveting orchestral passages with gritty, in-your-face-synth sections to create something truly special.
If this is what the star-in-the-making is churning out at 16, time will only tell how his music will evolve and improve over the coming years. All we know is that it’s an equally exciting and scary thought.
